I have 2.1 mAh charger and cable that supports it. Not Samsung OEM charger though.

Why does the mAh jumps around so much? If I start at 1500 mAh, it can go up to 1800, but also drop to 600.

What's wrong? Shouldn't it keep a steady charging mAh during the whole charging period?

Btw, I use the app Ampere Meter to monitor it.

    Thanks for feedback

No, it should not keep a steady charge. It's how it works to prolong batterylife.

That's normal behaviour, usually to keep the temperature down and lessen the stress on the battery.

Usually it'll start with a somewhat slower charging rate if it's entirely empty, and slowly ramp it up, while peaking between ~20-70% or something like that.

Even if you charge with a Samsung charger, you'll see the same behaviour. The principle is the same for most li-ion batteries.

It depends how much % battery is att. Charge in mAh will begin to drop when it reaches 90-95%. Which is normal and proper behaviour for it todo that.

Since if it keept full speed and it reaches 100% it won't be good for battery health and that could damage the battery and shorten it's life span.

    Big thanks all for replying.

I can understand that fluctuates depending on temperature and level.

As an example it can be like 60 % charged and the temperature steady 32 degrees C. And still it changes between like 500 and 1700, often around 1000. When I connect the charger several times, it starts at very different mAh, like around 80, 500, 1000 or 1500 mAh. Then it changes up and down.

Is this also normal? Both the charger and cable are approved for over 2 A.

Yes. It starts slowly and then ramps up as much as the phone allows for

Battery has a small main board that communicates with the motherboard in the phone sending information. This board makes sure battery is charged correctly, so it's normal for it to go upp to like 1500mAh and then all of sudden drop to 700mAh and then go back up. It's because main board from battery is adjusting charge speed making sure battery isn't charging to fast than it should.

Okej, thanks. I'll keep an eye on it, since it seems to learn as well.
