If you are new to programming, learn some Java
If you haven’t done any programming before, you’ll need to get some know-how of how basic programming works. Since Java is a widely used language and you will most likely use it when developing for Android it is a good language to start with. There are lots of guides for learning Java on the internet and if you rather would read a book there is also plenty to choose from. See below for some tips.
Learn how Android works
If you don’t know the basics of how Android works you might get confused of some things when starting to write apps, especially of an Android apps life cycle which is a bit different compared to a Windows program.
Go through an Android tutorial
Again, there is a lot to choose from here. Find one that goes through android development from start to a working application. Check the links below to find some tips.
Stuck with some error?
Even though you just follow a “simple” tutorial you are likely to get stuck with some error you don’t understand. Don’t worry, you are not alone with this particular error. Try google a part of the stack trace and see if you can find a solution to you problem. You can also try stackoverflow.com, but then again… search first, ask questions later.
