Hello everyone,
I wanted to share my recent experience with
Comviq and their eSIM service while using a Google Pixel 7 Pro and a Google Pixel Watch (LTE version).
I own a Google Pixel 7 Pro with a
Comviq SIM card, and I recently purchased the LTE version of the Google Pixel Watch. Although
Comviq's list of supported devices for eSIM is limited to Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch, I successfully scanned the QR code and added the eSIM to my Google Pixel Watch. Surprisingly, I was even able to make and receive calls on the watch without using my phone, which seemed logical.
However, there was a catch. As soon as the eSIM was activated on my watch, the main SIM card in my phone got disabled. I contacted
Comviq's customer service, and they informed me that they only support the devices listed on their website. If I wanted to reactivate the SIM card in my phone, they offered to send me a new SIM card or advised me to get a new one from any Pressbyrån store (by showing my ID and providing my phone number). Consequently, they deactivated the eSIM on my watch, and I went to Pressbyrån to get a new SIM card for my phone, which cost me SEK 25.
In conclusion, the eSIM from
Comviq works well with the Google Pixel Watch, but it comes at the cost of disabling the SIM card in your phone. It's a bit of a trade-off, so keep this in mind if you're considering using an eSIM with
Comviq for your Pixel devices.
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Any suggestions or workarounds would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
