American in sweden needs help w/ Eris

Hey, sorry for the english but my swedish is pretty bad. I have an older phone, an HTC Eris and would like to use it with my provider Halebop. Is this possible to do? The phone doesn't have a place to put sim cards. Is there any way around this?

 

A quick websearch suggest that the HTC Eris is only for Verizon. Thus it won't work with Halebop or any Swedish operator due to different network technology.

 

Yup. According to the specs on that site, it only works with an CDMA network, and not with the GSM networks used in the rest of the world.

 

Thank you both. I asked halebop and they said to contact HTC for some sort of GSM adapter. Or add on for a sim card... but they did not know if the Eris would work at all on their network. Is there such a thing as an adapter like Halebop told me?

It's like asking for an adapter to make an (old) AM radio receive FM channels.
