I recently purchased your tablet Z2 with the extended 3 year warranty. Would you please let me know how rooting the tablet will affect the warranty in terms of _hardware_ failures? My understanding is that hardware failures of a rooted unit will still be covered by the warranty, software failures will not be covered. Is this correct?

Thank you for your reply. What I meant was unlocking the bootloader (
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/) to enable for example rooting
(gaining full access to the device software). Again, I understand software
warranty will be void by these actions but what about the hardware warranty?

If it needs service the chances the the settings will be default again.
