HTC One eller Galaxy S4

Sorry, my Swedish is not that good in writing, and I don't want to insult anyone with my Norwegian So, I'm gonna write this post in English..

I'm going to buy a new phone tomorrow, I've been having a hard time deciding for over a month now.. I currently have the Galaxy Nexus, and I really don't want to go back to other than vanilla Android. But the Nexus 4 seems a bit old now. So, I'm pinned between the HTC One and the Galaxy S4.

If anyone could shed some light on a couple of questions about these phones, I would be more than happy!

1 - Battery? How long with normal usage
2 - Root, how simple or hard is it?
3 - Vanilla, I know both phones comes in a "Google Edition". Is it possible to root the scandinavian version, and install the Google Edition rom (And get OTA Updates)?
4 - Any other pros/cons

 

I used the S4 for about 3 month, and now had my HTC One 3 weeks. I´d go for the S4 since it´s the better phone. The battery is much better in the S4, thou the One has improved since the old One X terrible battery performance. The camera is pretty bad in the One if you ask me. Went to the Zoo on monday and took alot of photos. Most of them where terrible. You can get good images, but you have to be careful and objects can´t be more than a few meters away. Come to think of it: The camera is shit! Chargin is slow on the One, while super-fast on the S4. The screen on the One is realy good, but it´s small and the phone has tons of dead-space. This right here is the most annying thing to me. Sound is realy good on the One, but i never ever use the boom-sound speakers. Buildquality on my One is lousy/shit/terrible. S4 was perfect. So yee, I´d go with the Samsung!

Anyone else got some inputs? (Btw, I read/speak and sometimes write Swedish, just didn't want my post to be confusing if I messed up any swedish words...)

 

HTC one är bättre på design och ljud. Sense 5 är bättre än TW men då du ändå tänkt lägga in vanilla så spelar det ingen roll.

S4 är bättre på allt annat enligt mig. Display 5 tum på ett mindre format. Kamera, knappplacering m.m

Jag har ägt båda telefonerna och tycker samsung är mycket enklare att roota. Du behöver inte låsa upp bootloadern och du behöver inte adb.

Det är enkelt att lägga in vanilla på båda men du får inte tillgång till OTA. Men det tar ju max 10 min att flasha in en ny version ändå. Android uppdateras ju bara ett fåtal gånger per år så jag förstår inte allas behov av OTA.

Ok, seems like the S4 is a favourite, and I think that's the one I'm going for.. But when you say vanilla, do you mean a vanilla ROM that is fitted to the S4 by the community (like here or XDA forums) or the original S4 Google Edition Rom?
