Problem: I can't add my phone number to twitter to buy twitter blue

I'm back on twitter after a 3 month hiatus and the same day I became a member I can't add my phone number to twitter and it says you have to wait 48 hours before I can add a phone number, let's continue it's been like this for a month and I can't buy twitter blue and their other services. Should it be like that for the first few days or is there a problem with my account?
