ROM: [OCT.19]HyperSensation-CM7.1-v0.5 (CM7.1)|base 2.3.7 - Small, fast (only 71Mb!)

This is NOT my rom kristofpetho over at XDA was kind enought to let me share this with you!
If you have any questions regarding the rom, you can either ask here, or in the official thread over at XDA



I believe that our Sensation can do a lot more / be a lot faster / and therefore we can be more productive than with the Sense ROMs.
I also like to customize my own apps in a given ROM, so any simple/minimalistic ROM is a plus for me.

I therefore present to all who like this approach my very own HyperSensation ROM release, based on the latest CM7 build.

What you get:
- Simple, minimalistic ROM to be a good base for your everyday needs (those who like every app to be in there "out-of-the-box" should steer clear)
- Speed tweaks to make the CM7 base even faster and more responsive
- Tweaks to make battery life even better
- Tweaks to included apps (camera, mail, etc) to make the experince even more whole
- 720p video recording used instead of 1080p so that the camera does not FC
- GApps included so you do not have to install afterwards (Maps and Talk removed, but you can install through the Market)
- Custom minimalistic theme - partly from HyperDroid for HD2 and partly my own
- Stock CM kernel, so you can flash whichever kernel you want (refer to post #3)
- Always updated base to keep your flashing appetite full

You will find two branches, F (full version) and M (minimalistic version):

Full version:
- ADW Launcher (stock CM7)
- Email (stock CM7)
- Keyboard with predictive text (stock SM7)
- TTS service installed

Minimalistic version:
- Launcher Pro
- K9 Mail
- Keyboard without predictive text

All other addons/tweaks are exactly the same in the two branches, its just a matter of personal taste

Battery usage with my ROM:
- Standby: 1% per hour
- Light use (some calls, internet, BT): 2% per hour!

1. After installation, go into Settings / Wireless and Networks / Wifi / Advanced / Sleep Policy - and switch to Never.
2. When you are finished setting up the device, do a normal reboot and then you will have normal operations!

Before first install, be sure to do a full wipe!

For excellent battery life:

Download FauxClock (by Romanbb) HERE. (yes, it does work just fine on bricked kernels as well...)

Set the following on the 1st page:
- Max clock 1.188 ghz
- Min clock 384 mhz
- Governor ondemand
- check "Use different clocks when the screen is off"
- Max clock 768 mhz
- Min clock 192 mhz
- check "Set on boot"

Set the following on the 2nd page:
- Global voltage as low as possible, as long as your phone is stable (I am currently testing -62.5 but will probably go even lower)
Go down in increments of 12.5 and stay at a given undervolt setting for at least half a day, and if your phone is stable, go lower

Set the following on the 3rd page:
- Governer ondemand
- GPU IO Fraction 50

These tweaks are from Faux himself from THIS thread.

Which kernel should you use?

Try either:
- faux's kernel or the
- bricked kernel or the
- tiamat kernel

I personally use the faux kernel, but it is all personal preference, so I suggest to try all three of them to see which one feels best for your needs.

Which radio should you use?

I always use the latest available stable radio found HERE, as CyanogenMod was tested with it.

 

FAQ

Q: The Android Market does not show all apps.
A: You can fin the fixes for the market issues HERE.

Q: Where is Google Talk?
A: You can find the latest version attached at the end of this post. Adb push it to /system/app and reboot.

Q: How can I get Live Wallpapers to work?
A: ldelossa.ld was kind enough to post the solution HERE. Thank you!

Q: I get FC's on writing any text, using the "M" version.
A: Disable predictive text in Language & Keyboard settings, because to save ~10Mb space I have deleted all dictionaries from the ROM.

Q: How can I optimize battery life?
A: Do at least 2 full charge cycles to really measure battery life: flash the ROM, charge to full, let it drop below 15%, charge to full, let it drop below 15%, charge to full, and then evaluate.

Q: Where is the Theme Chooser?
A: It was deleted to make the ROM as lean as possible. You can download the 2 apks needed HERE. Adb push the 2 files to /system/app and reboot.

Q: How can I have predictive text in the Minimalistic version?
A: It was deleted to make the ROM as lean as possible. You can download the original LatinIME.apk needed HERE. Adb push the extracted file to /system/app and reboot.

Q: What dialer should you use?
A: If you do not like the default dialer and miss the T9 dialer from Sense, the 2 best dialers are (both free on the market) Dialer One and TouchPal Dialer. I prefer Dialer One as that blends in just nicely with my black theme I am using.

Q: What should I do if Titanium Backup does not restore properly / gets stuck at 0%?
A: Loveisthegroove has posted a possible fix for issue HERE. Thank you!

 

Jag har använt denna rom sedan v0.1.
Och får helt galet bra batteri tid. För er som gillar CyanogenMod, men vill ha nått mindre och snabbare, rekommenderar jag SKARPT denna.

Vilken underbar ROM!
Kör nu HyperSensation-CM7.1-v0.8.
Jag dundrade även in Pyramid-Kernel-024r-N-CM7-1.56GHz och tog bort
den nu uppmärksammade buggiga FauxClock v.072 (vet dock inte hur v0.8 är),
kör med Cyanogens egna cpucontroller satta till min. 192 och max 1026
och med guvernören intellidemand.

Drog ur laddaren för 12 tim. sedan, sovit 6 tim. använd den medel till hårt i 6 tim. och har nu 53% kvar. Super.

 

Är lite sugen på att roota min Sensation som jag fick som jobbtelefon, den klarar sig 8-14 timmar innan den är totalt slut, kör bluetooth hela dagen med mellan 1-3 timmar samtal och pushmail på två konton och kollar regelbundet av ytterligare två mappar i mailen manuellt samt lite surf som jag kan tvingas göra...
Är så sjukt less på det, finns det någon som är "tung" användare som jag som testat det här med root på den och tex denna rom, som vad det verkar ha bäst batteritid som kan ge input? Innan jag bryter garantin...
Kör root på Desiren, men den har ju mkt mer historik kring roms så den kände jag mig mer bekväm med.

 

Har denna rom klocking automatiskt till 1,5?

 

Någon som inte hittar sitt trådlösa nätverk? När jag ställde in mobilen i början bad jag Google hämta uppgifter som jag sparat genom backup tidigare... Kan detta ha bidragit, andra romar hittar WiFi:n med en gång...
Löste det med att ändra de avancerade inställningarna i WiFi till 14 kanaler om någon får samma problem...

 

Nej, du måste själv lägga in en kernel som klarar överklockning. Kolla faux 0.2.5 b2

Är rätt sugen på att testa HyperSensation, kör fortfarande stock rom dock rootad. Tror nog att jag satsar på att köra in HyperSensation i helgen, börjar bli tokig på Sense nu

 

Jag har testat sjukt många romar men är tillbaka på HyperSensation. Stabil, snabb och lightweight!

Denna rom blir bara bättre och bättre!

 

Körde in den nu ikväll och det känns ju bra. Har ju kört cm7 på min desire så. Går det att få in cyanbread temat i denna? Vad ska man köra för galleri app?

Det löste sig fint, plockade ut Cyanbread.apk och Gallery3D.apk från CM7 på Desiren.

Kör denna nu, första romen jag kör (rotade idag), så får se hur batteritiden ser ut imorgon! Det är det som blir mest spännande och anledningen till varför jag rootade egentligen.
En sak jag märkte var att K-9 mail inte fungerade med mina exchange-konton, så jag tog ner CM7's mail-app så fungerar samtliga konton.
Sen hade jag problem med att tangentbordet hängde sig och vägrade försvinna, så fick starta om telefonen (weird), dök upp flera gånger. Men jag har ju köpt Swiftkey sen innan så stoppade in det illa kvickt...

Förresten, hur lång tid tar det innan enheten dyker upp i market.android.com normalt sett? Hade ju velat installera alla köpta program etc. genom webbinterfacet och inte genom Market (framförallt p.g.a. översikten över vad man har på andra telefonen)
