Hello I unlocked my Nexus a year ago. Rooted, different roms. Swapped SIM-cards between many operator. The last ROM is XenonHD 4.2.2. Now I keep getting "PIN-code for network" And it will not connect to the net, only emergency numbers. Can the phone be operator locked again?
Check if the IMEI number for some reason has changed. Compare via *#06# and then compare what is written on the label under the battery.
All Nexus phones are operator unlocked from factory. When you say you unlocked it, do you mean "bootloader unlocked" ? Check IMEI if its changed. Did you buy it second hand ? Sounds like it might been reported stolen and IMEI locked?
Those sold from the Play Store were. Phones you buy from carriers, though, are usually carrier-locked but that is entirely up to the carrier. Google themselves always sell their phones contract free and carrier unlocked. This only thing locked from the factory, though, would be the bootloader, although that is one simple fastboot command away from being unlocked.
Still the same IMEI-number. But I found the old operater unlocking code. So I unlocked it again. Unrooted and did a factory reset, updated to 4.3. Now I rooted my phone. And going to put another rom in it. XenonHD or any better suggestions_
The Galaxy Nexus is special in that the status of being unlocked is stored in /data so it gets wiped when you do a factory reset. If you have root, you can make it permanent by modifying /efs. For background, check the link below. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1606982
