Samsung pays Apple $1.05 billion in 5-cents coins!

Samsung sent this morning 30 trucks loaded with coins of 5-cents to Apple’s headquarters in California to pay the $1.05 fine recently ruled against the South Korean company in the U.S. a report published in PaperBlog today said.

The story added that at first Apple thought the trucks were in the wrong place, but minutes later, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook received a call from Samsung CEO explaining that they will pay the fine in 5-cents coins since the jury did not specify a single payment method.

Samsung’s Chairman Lee Kun-hee is reported to have said that his company is not going to be intimidated by a group of “geeks with style”, and that if they want to play dirty, they also know how to do it, PaperBlog added.

While many saw the ruling against Samsung as unjust have saluted this creative idea and wondered how Apple will respond to this, the funny story that quickly swept the intent turned out to be a hoax, unfortunately!

Samsung is now planning to appeal this decision, however if Samsung would actually go through with this, imagine how employers at Apple would look like counting 21 billion coins that weigh 105 million kilograms!
