So, uhh, for no reason I got banned from BankID completely, forever, from any bank in Sweden? And they won't even tell me why, other than, hey, we think you broke the rules (and I haven't done anything really?!).

 

Not yet, I received the message this afternoon and e-mailed them asking for more clarification.

 

I doubt you'll get much help through email. They utypically don't offer "sensitive" information through email. Calling would be much better. Or if you have som "secure messaging" option while logged in.

 

Den informationen var ju intressant. Var har du hört det, och finns det någon (skriftlig) källa du kan ge, typ en länk, för vidare läsning om detta regelverk?

Frågeställarens beskrivning, att han inte gjort något men ändå blivit bannad, får ju mig att tänka på hur viktigt BankID är och hur stora konsekvenser det kan få om man stängs ute från tjänsten - och hur viktigt det är att den här typen av beslut inte fattas på godtyckliga grunder. Kanske en bra grej trots allt att staten framöver ska ta fram en egen lösning för e-legitimation, som ska finnas vid sidan av BankID.

Jag kan tycka att det borde finnas något särskilt beslutsorgan vid bankerna (eller hos någon myndighet, typ Finansinspektionen eller myndigheten DIGG) dit man kan överklaga ett sånt här beslut, där man kan få åberopa sina skäl och banken får försöka bevisa att man brutit mot regelverket. I nuläget är det väl allmän domstol som är enda utvägen, om man verkligen vill göra allt för att få tillbaka sitt BankID. Med potentiellt skyhöga kostnader. Alternativt att använda den nya könskorrigeringslagen och få ett nytt personnummer, som förhoppningsvis inte är bannat...

If nothing else works, then going to a newspaper with your story could be the only way to put pressure on the bank, so they revise their decision.

BankID får inte aktiveras
Om du får ett meddelande om att BankID inte får aktiveras för ditt personnummer betyder det att din bank har blockerat ditt personnummer från att ha ett BankID. Blockeringen gäller 12 månader. Det är bara den bank som satt blockeringen som kan ta bort den.

Varför blockeras mitt personnummer?
Möjligheten att blockera ett personnummer finns för att förhindra missbruk av BankID, hålla säkerheten hög och skydda våra användare. Om en blockering gjorts har banken bedömt att du har brutit mot deras användarvillkor för BankID-tjänsten.

Vad kan jag göra?
Kontakta din bank. Ingen annan bank kan ändra eller ta bort blockeringen. Andra banker kan inte heller ge dig ett nytt BankID så länge ditt personnummer är blockerat. Det är bara den bank som blockerat ditt personnummer som kan hantera ärendet.

Meningslöst att gå till tidningarna innan vi vet varför personen blivit blockerad från BankID.

 

Det här var intressant, en bank kan blockera ett personnummer helt från att skaffa ett nytt BankID hos alla banker, till synes helt godtyckligt?

Verkar helt orimligt, men det här med "KYC" ("Know Your Customer", "kundkännedom") verkar ha spårat ur helt på sina håll och blivit ett byråkratiskt helvete för dem som drabbas.

 

TS @yomlal . I believe the easiest way for you is to make a new visit to your bank, try to get to know the reason for why you are banned, and try to get it rectified while you still are in the bank and can explain your side of the case, eye to eye with a person.

Att bli totalt blockerad från BankID skulle nog de flesta uppleva som en mardröm i dagsläget!
Dock kan jag inte tro att någon "tillfällig bankfunktionär" kan göra det godtycklgt...
BankID har ju rätt så omfattande användarvillkor, så det kan vara en rad olika orsaker.

Skulle tro att enklaste lösningen för TS är att göra ett nytt besök i sin bank, och få reda på exakta orsaken, och försöka rätta till det medan man är i banken.

Btw, vad jag förstår så går det inte att flytta en existerande BankID från en enhet till en annan. Ny enhet kräver nytt BankID.

So, I just got further info from my bank:

Thing is... I do have National ID Card. Sure, the one issued by Skatteverket, not the Police, so it lacks the chip or whatever the "Swedish" one has, but that's because I don't have Swedish nationality. And that's why I went to the bank branch with that to identify myself...

Also, thanks to everyone for the support given! I'll continue in my struggle. It's just sad that after more than 5 years of living here in Sweden, paying taxes, getting a mortgage, and buying a property, that's the treatment I got from a private company (BankID) with such a monopolistic position in this country.

According to the latest message, it's not even the bank that took the decision, but BankID/the company behind them.

Though, if I'm putting my tinfoil hat on, I feel like some automated system flagged me for some reason, and the support on any of the sides doesn't understand it, so they just return with "you broke ToS" message.

 

Ja det låter helt sinnessjukt. Går ju knappt att leva utan BankID idag. Blir mer och mer som i Kina...

 

Då kan man ju spekulera i att TS försök att flytta existerande BankID från en enhet till en annan har har förorsakat blokeringen...?

 

Fair enough, I get the limitation, which is precisely why I went to the bank, as the app, when creating a new BankID, was clear I couldn't do it myself without the Police-issued ones. I have no issue with it (other than it's a bit annoying). As long as I have a way to prove my identity in the presence of the bank clerk, I believe it should be enough.

@geobjork: I have a valid and working BankID on my older device (two even!). Now, I got a new device and wanted to use it as my primary driver, therefore I wanted to activate a new BankID on it -- and that's where I failed.

Another fun story: my wife had a similar problem a year ago or so. I was too eager to install a new custom ROM on her phone, so it resulted in a data wipe. Fine, I got it up and running, but she needed BankID too. The app complained about lacking Swedish documents, so she went to the bank. Coincidentally, her mother was with her. BankID refused to be generated for that device (on which, before I wiped the data, she had a working BankID), while it worked on a random older phone she had with her and on her mother's phone that they've used to test.

 

BankID is a very powerful identification certificate which basically opens the door to all parts of Swedish society. Therefor it must have specific rules and regulations not to misused.

To get one, you must have a Swedish personnummer, be customer in a bank that have the right to emit it and have the proper identification papers, which is one of two: Swedish passport and the national ID card from the police.

 

Not all banks accepts that, at least that is what I've heard and read. It depends on your relation with the bank.

 

When I renewed my BankID on two devices not long ago, it came up a message about it could happen that I would need to identify myself with National ID Card via NFC on some funktions, type transfere a large amount of money.

This indicates to me that a National ID Card is necessary no matter what in order to use BankID...?

Edit: Or a valid Swedish Passport.
