Tips: Den stora firmwaretråden, senaste .28, 2012-06-13

Nu har jag en liten lägenhet. En rätt liten tvåa. Ruotern är i hallen och jag har över 10Mb i alla rum och jag är då aldrig särskilt långt ifrån routern. Wifi är mycket sämre än på min Galaxy Nexus men ändå inom smärtgränsen. Kommer nog behålla min Prime.

EDIT: Gick ut på balkongen i vardagsrummet 8med stängd dörr). Första försöket var den nere på 0.8 och tappade kontakt. Andra försöket fick jag 3Mb. Fan med Nexuses kan jag sitta i bilen nere på gatan och nå mitt wifi! Blir nog att lämna tillbaka denna och köpa HD-modellen när den kommer.

I nästa vecka kan "ASUS Transformer Prime" ägare glädjas åt en större ICS uppdatering (v9.4.2.19) med följande nyheter och förbättringar

New Features:
+ Press-able notification in Lock screen
+ User can able to check reminder or notification of unread email under screen locked.
+ Upgrade Vibe from v1.0 to v2.0 with corresponding MyLibrary and MyCloud versions - Vibe2.0 improves UI and provides more media contents

New Functions:
+ Support the USB to LAN cable of UX series (Accessory)
+ Camera FW background forced update mechanism - Camera FW upgrade will be automatically installed with image upgrade so there is no need to press the independent camera upgrade icon in the notification area.
+ Support Ad hoc mode (Ad hoc mode was supported in HC but 1st time support in ICS)
+ Keep use’s choice of browser viewing type (Tablet or Desktop website viewing type)
+ Enable power profile (Battery information setting)
+ New display mode of HDMI output - Scale mode(Default) and Crop mode (Detail comparison in next two sides.)

1. Firmware Update 9.4.2.21 will be released by 3/30 for North America. Updates and fixes galore for the lack of better words.

 

Asus Sverige sade ju att .19 skulle rulla ut denna vecka. Någon som fått den ännu?

Big news on the horizon for users of Transformer Prime! And 'in fact an update coming very full-bodied, with version number 9.4.2.21. Here's what changed: first, it will be possible to control notifications (unread mails, etc ...) directly from the screen lock.
Some apps will change the system default name: the Market will Play Store, Books become Play Books, Music and Video will become Play Music Play Music.
There will be an update from ASUS Vibe from version 1.0 to version 2.0 (and consequently also an update of the app and myCloud MyLibrary). The new version of the Vibe will propose an improved interface and more content.
We will support the connection of Prime LAN cable, using the Ethernet to USB converter UX Series (sold separately as an accessory). Function that we implemented in response to demands made on Facebook.
With the new release there will be a new mechanism to update the camera firmware: will no longer need to be updated separately, but will be updated directly with the image of the operating system.
Important news will be the long awaited support for Ad-hoc networks required (rightly) a loud voice to all of you after the move to ICS. And then you say that ASUS does not think
Finally we added the ability to display the HDMI output to TV viewing in choosing between portrait and landscape, each with an option to scale the video to full screen or cropparlo.
Among the upcoming features in the implementation of which we are working there are the Face Direct Unlock and WiFi.
That said: timing of update? Short, very short indeed. The release of the update on the devices should be Italian (except for last-minute problems) already this Thursday (March 29)!
At the same time we are working at full capacity to release another update that stabilizes the problems encountered by some of you on the TF101. And of course the update - long awaited - ICS for TF101G. Stay tuned

Blir en rätt stor uppdatering som faktiskt bjuder på nya funktioner och inte "bara" bakom kulisserna fixar.

Hoppas på att vi får se en mer stabil och snabbare platta efter denna uppdatering.

Jo stabilitet har inte jag några trubbel med och WiFi har jag labbat med inklusive att skicka in mer "juice" till plattan....plus då 1.6 Ghz samt samtliga kärnor "online" mha System Tuner Pro !

Jag slipper då dessa "jefla" buffringar om jag ser nåt streamat och hastigheten räcker till...

Hoppas iaf att man stoppat i förstärkta drivare för WiFi....så slipper man slösa "juice".....

 

Låter mycket bra även om jag värderar bakom kulisserna fixer mer än funktionerna.

 

Så var den kommen!
