Hi, I have a problem with my HTC Hero, a problem which I think is (or should be) known to you (after browsing some forums and found others with the same problem, but found no answers or solutions).
Ever since I started up the device for the first time it has been dropping the contact with 3G, EDGE, 3GH etc. constantly without me interacting with it at all. It just drops it. The only way to connect again seems to be a restart of the phone or manually re-activate the connection from the network settings. A restart seemed to be more reliable.
Ok, so far so bad, but recently it's been getting worse.
Now I cant connect at all, a restart doesnt help, so I'm sitting an a 500€ smart phone that cant use the Internet.
To answer some of your possible questions before hand:
-I have a work colleague that has a HTC Hero with the same network operator (
Tele2, Sweden), and his connection works just fine.
-I've double checked my settings and to be clear, I DO have connection to the network 'Sweden3G' which is the same as my colleague is using in the same geographical area. Mobile Network is 'on', Mobile Data activated etc etc. (actually nothing is changed since it worked last time).
-I have the latest ROM-upgrade from HTC.
So we narrowed it down to HTC, I guess. This leaves me with a bunch of questions.
-Is there a fix for the above problem?
-Is it a hardware- or software problem?
-Do you have any further information regarding this problem?
-Can I expect a fix in the nearest future?
