Samstidigt som Sony Ericsson höll sin presentation på MWC i Barcelona så höll Samsung hov på annat håll, och precis som Sony Ericsson så presenterade Samsung sina nya androidmodeller. Att det i Samsungs fall handlade om en uppföljare till storsäljaren Galaxy S var det väl få som hade betvivlat, men in i det längsta debatterades det vilken hårdvara telefonen skulle ha utrustats med.

Nu behöver vi inte längre undra, då Samsung stolt presenterade den nya modellen Galaxy S II och avslöjade att telefonen bland annat har utrustats med Android 2.3, en dubbelkärnig processor på 1 GHz per kärna, en Super AMOLED Plus-skärm på 4.27″ (WVGA-upplösning, 480×800 pixlar) och kameror både på baksidan och på fronten med 8 repsektive 2 megapixlar. En glädjande detalj är att Samsung med 1650 mAh har satt i ett lite större batteri än den rådande standarden som i flera år tyvärr har legat på låga 1500 mAh – om ens det.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 är som namnet antyder en tablet med en skärmstorlek på 10.1 tum och bygger på samma processorplattform som Galaxy S II, det vill säga en dubbelkärnig processor på 1 GHz per kärna. Samsung har trots den rejält tilltagna skärmen med sina 599 gram lyckats hålla nere vikten ganska rejält, och med en tjocklek på blott 10.9 millimeter så är enheten minst sagt smäcker trots ett ordentligt tilltaget batteri på närmare 7000 mAh.

Upplösningen på den 10.1 tum stora LCD-skärmen ligger glädjande nog på 1280×800 pixlar och inte de 1024×600 som det tidigare hade viskats om, vilket vi anser vara alldeles för lågupplöst för en så stor skärm. Under skalet rullar förstås Android 3.0, mer känd som Honeycomb, och vad gäller kamerabestyckning så är Tab 10.1 identisk med Galaxy S II – 8 megapixlar på baksidan och 2 på fronten.
